Intake procedure
If you are thinking about bringing a parrot to us you can convince yourself first of the good intentions of the Foundation Dutch Parrot Refuge. You can have a look around the park first and get all the information that you want. All our volunteers will gladly take time to talk to you. We will not ask any unnecessary questions like why you want to bring the parrot. The well being of the parrot comes first! If you are satisfied with what you saw we will start the procedure to take the bird in:

With every intake, a fee will be charged to cover expenses for the initial medical care of each bird. The standard fees are:
- For Parrots € 20,-
- For Parakeets and Beo's € 10,- -
The parrot will arrive at our reception area and a waiving-certificate will be drawn up.

After signing the certificate the parrot will be put in a clean cage. It will receive fresh water and be put on the new diet which we feed to all the parrots in the park.

The cage will be fitted with the number on the certificate.

The parrot is registered in our computer system and will be fitted with a chip which has a unique registration number. This way we will always be able to inform you how your parrot is doing and in which aviary it was placed.
