Parrotpark N.O.P.
A red ara, carefully picking a peanut out of your fingers with his enormous hooked beak, a wonderful peach coloured cockatoo which may be stroked over the crest.
The parrots may be fed with peanuts, present on the premises, or with fresh fruit, brought by yourselves. Often they politely say: “Dankuwel” (“Thank you”) They are, after all, (almost) all of them parrots, raised by people and are continuously talking. For children, “Feeding sticks” are available in the shop. With these sticks, peanuts may be held, in order to avoid children’s fingers being hurt by the parrots’ beaks.
There is a lot more to see: Over 500 cages and aviaries, with thousands of parrots and cockatoos are shown, ranging from the small green springparrot (sized about 7cm) upto the biggest of all parrots, the ara, with a span of upto 1meter.
Information signs indicate who is living in what aviary.
