Sheltering aquatic birds
Our park also offers shelter to many aquatic birds. Tens of different duck species have a pond of their own to swim on.
But we also have many swans and geese, all swimming in freely on our large ponds. The black swans even bear young for us each year, a sure sign that an animal is doing well in its habitat. What a lovely sight it is to see these infants paddling along with Mom!
Our collection of ducks, swans and geese includes the following species:
- Mandarin Duck (Aix galericulata)
- Wood duck (Aix sponsa)
- Teal (Anas crecca)
- Wigeon (Anas penelope)
- Garganey (Anas querquedula)

- Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula)
