The Lorre-Acker
Since the summer of 1996 the Lorre-Acker houses about 30 different parrots. These parrots have one thing in common; they can’t fly. That’s why a gauze roof isn’t necessary and you can almost touch them.
A small white house with a lot of branches and small tree trunks in it and woodchips on the floor keeps them nice warm when the weather is not so good. They constantly move in and out of the house to sit on the small terrace outside the door in the sun. Sometime no less than 6 parrots sit on a branch cuddling and chatting.
The Lorre-Acker is also the home of some large lizards, land turtles and a couple of rabbits. Every now and then one of the parrots is looking down at those ‘strange birds’ down there!
